Day 2: Foire du TrôneAfter a few minutes to sort ourselves out in the hotel, we walked back across the Seine to the fair. This second evening was mainly used as an opportunity to take photos rather than ride very much, although we did re-ride Infernal Toboggan and one of the big wheels.
Prizes at UK fairs consist of goldfish and teddy bears - here they include games consoles, DVD players, TVs and even scooters
Here we see why Malcolm wasn't on the trip - he was stealing the public's money with his extensive array of grabber machines
Several ghost trains attended, some including live actors
Loads of food places, naturally
Observation wheel, meet enterprise wheel
Infernal Toboggan: great coaster
Entering the tunnel (yes, another tunnel)

Just because you can't ever have enough wheel photos
The Foire du Trone was impressive, probably especially so for me because I'd never experienced anything anywhere near that scale before.
Having had our fill of the fair we retired back to the hotel bar where we met a few more club members for a quiet drink to finish the evening. Not having had much of a chance before, when we got back up to our room I took a look at the view out of our window:
