Blizzard Funderworld, Cardiff

What do you do with a honking great stadium over Christmas while it's not being used for sporting events or concerts?  At the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff they decided to close the roof and stick a fair - sorry, traveling theme park - inside.

Pay on the gate rather than pay-per-ride proved excellent value at just £11 for a wristband

A lot of effort had been put into making the stadium look festive, with plenty of Christmas trees, lights and snow

Star attractions included Space Roller and the ubiquitous spinning mouse

Space Roller was being run well

a good varied programme

Samurai ... what's that? ;)

Mellor's Mouse ... the sign in this position doesn't give a lot of headroom around the first turn!

Big Ben just fitted, leaving only a few inches between the top and the roof

Drop towers - pretty to take pictures of rather than ride

Perfect for the winter, a portable rapids.  With a leaky trough.  Ducked too late.

Move It 32: some great programme elements, mixed in with a lot of sitting around not doing very much while perched up in the air.

Ahhhh ... Jump and Smile ... just what I like!

Polar Bears and reindeer replaced bears and fish as prizes

Even some of the games got a Christmas re-theme courtesy of cardboard antlers over the horses' heads.

Merry Christmas (don't get to say that very often in trip reports)!
