When a coaster's construction is overseen by British Rail engineers, you know it's going to be unique. The first half of The Ultimate feels very much like a fast miniture railway but, following the labouriously slow second lift, all hell breaks loose as you realise the designers had little concept of forces or how to correctly bank a piece of track. This results in a brutal, intense ride that leaves returning riders either smiling, crying or limping. First Ride: 16 October 2005 | ||||||||
