at BPB1935 to present

The Grand National (known affectionately as the “Nash” to its friends) is widely regarded as one of the greatest surviving wooden coasters in the world. Two trains race each other around the track, designed to resemble the Grand National horserace. It is a mobius coaster, meaning both tracks are actually part of one continuous circuit – the trains start on one side of the station and end up on the other. A fire badly damaged the Nash’s station on the night of 20 May 2004, but the ride was reopened later in the year following extensive repairs.

First Ride: 25 May 2005
